Scroller is a third-party client application designed to browse and play public vertical video and GIF content from Reddit. This Privacy Policy details how your data is handled within the application.

1. Information We Process

Scroller values your privacy. The app is entirely serverless (we do not run any custom databases or backend servers that store your personal details). All operations are done directly on your local device.

• Reddit Authentication: When you sign in with your Reddit account, the app obtains and stores an OAuth2 access and refresh token locally on your device (using secure local preference storage). We do not collect or see your Reddit username, password, or account credentials.
• Local Settings & Cache: Settings like feed sorting, geolocation filters, content preferences, and history lists of viewed posts are stored entirely locally on your device to personalize your experience.
• Diagnostics: Basic diagnostic crash logs may be processed locally to troubleshoot app errors.

2. How Your Information Is Used

• To fetch content and streams from Reddit APIs on your behalf.
• To support localized settings, like regional trending filters.
• To handle video downloading/caching requested explicitly by you.

3. Third-Party API Services

Scroller communicates directly with third-party servers to fetch content:

• Reddit APIs (oauth.reddit.com): Used for logging in, querying feeds, loading comments, and updating votes/actions. Your interactions with Reddit are governed by the official Reddit Privacy Policy.
• ParseHub API: Used as a public fallback endpoint to discover trending subreddits.
• RedditSave: Used as a fallback tool to verify audio track availability for specific video streams.

4. System Permissions

• Internet Access: Required to download/stream media and coordinate API queries.
• Photo Library / Storage Access: Requested only when you click the "Save Video" option to save files directly to your device storage.

5. Account & Data Deletion

Scroller does not create or store custom user profiles. To delete all local tokens, viewed history, and preferences:

Simply click Log Out in the settings panel inside the application. This immediately purges all stored credentials and local database caches from your device. You can also revoke Scroller's permissions at any time from your Reddit account preferences online.
